Based on the Charles Barnard and Neil Burgess play. This is the story of kindly Abigail Prue and her ward Sally whose home will soon be foreclosed on by the greedy Solon Hammerhead unless they can pay or again to an unappealing marriage. With no source of money they must take a chance at the county fair with luckless jockey Tim Vail and 'Slow Molasses' the horse of Sally's beau Joel.
