Hoodoo Ann was abandoned at the Clarissa Parke Orphanage on Friday the Thirteenth and since then everyone is sure she's bad luck and wants nothing to do with her. However when the orphanage catches fire, Ann proves her selflessness by saving Goldie, the orphanage's favorite fawning girl.  Her bravery leaves young artist Jimmy Vance smitten and inspires Sam and Elinor Knapp, a childless couple, to take her into their home.
