Defense Attorney Richard Smith's wife is out of town and he is eager to indulge his philandering ways yet his mother-in-law is doing everything she can to interfere with his fun and to remind him of his wife! So when renowned impersonator The Great Zero calls seeking permission to impersonate him on stage the crafty husband convinces the performer to stay the night pretending to be so as to fool his watchful mother-in-law. Of course things turn from bad to hilarious when Smith's wife comes home early and how could Richard realize that his own date for the evening is the unhappy wife of the very same Great Zero!
