Frank Capra
(05/18/1897 - 09/03/1991)

One of seven children, Frank Capra was born in Bisacquino, Sicily and moved with his family to Los Angles in 1903.

After trying to break into directing he got his first chance with Harry Langdon in "The Strong Man (1926)" but while directing his second film with Langdon, Long Pants (1927), they had a falling out and he was let go. Howeer in October of 1927 he was hired to direct for Columbia Pictures and would soon become Time magizne's #1 director in the 1930's
